There’s no sugarcoating it: Starting a business is hella expensive. From website costs, legal documents, inventory, packaging, marketing and more—everything costs money!
When we first decided that we wanted to launch our business, the biggest hurdle for us wasn’t the time, commitment or workload—it was the financial cost. We’re both strong, confident, independent women, yet becoming business owners scared the you-know-what out of us! We were (and still are) completely self-funded, so it was difficult for us to come to terms with investing the kind of capital it takes to create and sustain a business. After much discussion, we decided: no risk, no reward! From there, we set a budget, honed in on our business plan, and took the leap.
